  Dr. Steve Karr has been at Carson-Newman since 1987, having previously received his MS and PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Georgia. Courses he teaches include Microbiology, Immunology, Judo, RAD, and Career Planning in the Health Professions. His office is room 203B in the science building (DSC). Hobbies include martial arts and hiking. Favorite secular book = Lord of the Rings; favorite music = classic rock.

  Susan earned a Bachelor of Science in Animal Behavior and a Master of Science in Forestry from the University of Georgia.  She teaches our Animal Behavior course and coordinates our non-majors courses in Human Biology and Environmental Science.  She has led CN's campus recycling program from its start.  Susan's office is in DSC 214 in the Science Building.

  Connie has been involved with higher education administrative software since 1979. As a software specialist in a previous role, she installed, trained, supported and modified proprietary software to meet the needs of the company’s clients.

  Since coming to Carson-Newman College in 1999, she has been a programmer/analyst in the Information Technology Department. Currently working with the Datatel Colleague Enterprise System software she provides training, testing, troubleshooting, and support for the administrative offices.

  Connie and her husband and I live in Powell, TN, and have two grown children who both graduated from Carson-Newman. They also have a two year old grandson who keeps them busy during their spare time.

  Peggy is part-time librarian in The Ronald R. Midkiff ESL Resource Center which is provided for graduate students studying English as a Second Language. The Resource Center is located on the second floor of the CGE Building.  The Resource Center hours are posted at the CGE Building. Mrs. King, who is the wife of a retired Army chaplain, has had the opportunity to travel and live in other countries during her husband’s career.

  Dr. Knight received her Bachelor of Business Administration in Economics from the University of Tennessee and her Master’s and Ph.D. in Economics from North Carolina State University. Dr. Knight began her Carson-Newman teaching career in fall 2000.
  
  Dr. Knight came to Carson-Newman from Triangle Economic Research where she worked as a Senior Economist. She previously taught at North Carolina State University.
