The Church Relations and Campus Ministries division of Carson-Newman University serves to support local churches and university students in developing educated citizens and worldwide servant-leaders on mission for Christ.
Carson-Newman was established because of Tennessee churches, and we are grateful for our partnership with churches to advance the Kingdom of God. Campus Ministries is a biblically-based and Gospel-focused ministry to all university students at Carson-Newman. We offer weekly chapel services to provide a formal worship experience and to preach God’s Word to our students, faculty and staff. We train and employ student chaplains who are available to provide support to both students living in every residence hall on campus and those students who commute to campus. We disciple students by leading them to study God’s Word and establish a Biblical worldview. Throughout the year, we offer ministry and missions training for all students who can participate.

Through the Appalachian Ministries of the Smokies (AMOS) ministry, local families in need are served through a variety of avenues. Services include a food pantry, home repairs, shelter for women and children, educational programs and vouchers for families to use at a local thrift store.
