Carson-Newman University is pleased to be affiliated with the Tennessee Baptist Convention.
Carson-Newman offers 50 undergraduate majors and 11 graduate degrees. As a “Tennessee Promise” school we also offer an associate degree that allows students to transition seamlessly into a baccalaureate program. Students study on campus, online and at our newest location – Pellissippi State Community College, Strawberry Plains. The university offers numerous study abroad and mission opportunities, internships, a thriving Eagle Scholars program and a nationally recognized honor society. C-N provides rigorous preparation for professional and health professions, including dentistry, law, medicine, business and physical therapy. Our graduate and adult studies programs give students a flexible educational experience compatible with their busy lives.
Our 120-acre campus in Jefferson County, Tennessee, is just 35 minutes from Knoxville and 40 minutes from the Great Smoky Mountains. Two lakes and a state park also surround our campus. From vibrant city life to serene wilderness, you’ll find it all in East Tennessee.
Students participate in 70+ campus organizations. The calendar is filled with campus wide events and activities, and most are student-led.
Opportunities to study with an international focus include partnerships with Al Akhawayn University Exchange Program, Asian Exchange Programs, Chinese Cross-Culture Institute, London Program, Oxford Term, international cross-cultural courses and mission outreach opportunities worldwide.
Student-athletes compete at the NCAA Division II level, South Atlantic Conference in 20 varsity sports.
