Orientation will be your exciting, engaging, and one-of-a-kind experiences that allow you to leap into campus life at Carson-Newman University. You will have so many opportunities to meet new friends and get involved on campus. Our Orientation Leaders are equipped with the knowledge to tackle any questions you may have. Incoming Freshman and Transfer Students are encouraged to participate in this uniquely Carson-Newman experience.
FRIDAY, JANUARY 9
8-9 AM: MOVE-IN (Residence Halls) — For those Eagles moving on to campus, you will check-in to your Residence Hall to receive your key and begin settling into your new home.
10-10:30 AM: CHECK-IN (Tarr Music Center) — All students will check-in for the day.
10:30-11:30 AM: WELCOME (Thomas Recital Hall, TMC) — All students and family members will be officially welcomed to campus and invited to participate in a time of worship and celebration.
11:30 AM – 12:30 PM: EAGLE ESSENTIALS (Stephens-Burnett Memorial Library, 2nd floor) — Students will be able to meet essential faculty and staff members from various departments to gain critical knowledge on navigating college life.
12:30 – 1:30 PM: LUNCH (Stokely Memorial Cafeteria) — All students and family members will be welcomed to lunch in our cafeteria.
1:30 – 3 PM: NAVIGATING CAMPUS LIFE (Fite Building, Public Safety Office & Campus) — Students will be able to complete several checklist items such as visiting Student One Stop in the Fite Administrative Building, getting a parking decal from the Public Safety Office, tour campus with an Orientation Leader and discover where their classes are before classes begin on Monday, December 12.
3 – 4 PM: MAPLES MEET & GREET (Maples Coffeehouse) — Students are encouraged to meet with campus faculty and staff while enjoying a free drink from Maples!
