On December 5, 1851, the charter for Mossy Creek Missionary Baptist Seminary was approved by the Tennessee General Assembly. While the names of our institution have changed throughout the last 17 decades, our mission has not as we remain dedicated to serving students on Mossy Creek.
Join the Carson-Newman family in celebrating Charter Day, the anniversary of our founding and our annual day of giving. On this special day, Eagles from near and far come together to honor the university’s rich heritage and invest in its future. Every gift — no matter the size — supports Christ-centered education, empowers students to pursue their calling and strengthens the mission that began when we were first chartered more than 170 years ago. Your participation helps ensure that the legacy of faith, service, and learning continues to thrive for generations to come.
