Financial Aid Important Dates

Staying informed and aware of the timeline of your financial aid is very important, and we want to make that easy for you so that you don’t miss out on any opportunities! Below is a helpful list of important dates and deadlines broken down by semester for all prospective and current students. Please contact the Financial Aid Office if you have any questions.

Important Dates

Fall 2024 (dates subject to change)

• 2024-2025 FAFSA will open in mid- to late-December (school code 003481)
• Get FSA ID and Passwords set up now at studentaid.gov
• Submit FAFSA by August 1, 2024 for financial aid availability
• Submit by April 15, 2024 for TN State Aid deadline (TN Promise and TSAA) and for more advanced aid notification 
• Complete Verification (if required) by August 1, 2024
• Continuing students must clear verification before aid eligibility can be determined and financial aid packages can be officially offered
• Accept/reject aid by August 1, 2024
• New Loan borrowers and TEACH Grant recipients complete Loan and/or TEACH Grant paperwork by August 1, 2024
• Notify the Financial Aid Office about any housing and/or enrollment changes by August 1, 2024
• Confirm registration through E-Confirm on MyCN or C-N app before fall classes start
• Satisfactory Academic Progress Appeal deadline is August 1, 2024. For students enrolled in summer classes the deadline is extended to August 15, 2024, or ASAP after summer grades are reported and SAP status is calculated
• Fall classes start August 26, 2024

Spring 2024 (dates subject to change)

• Submit 2023-24 FAFSA by December 1, 2023 (school code is 003481)
• Complete verification (if required) by December 12, 2023
• Accept/reject aid by January 5, 2024
• New borrowers complete loan paperwork by January 5, 2024
• Notify Financial Aid about any housing and/or enrollment changes by January 5, 2024
• Satisfactory Academic Progress Appeal deadline is January 5, 2024
• Confirm registration through E-Confirm on MyCN or the C-N app by January 9, 2024
• Spring semester classes start January 10, 2024

Summer 2024 (dates subject to change)

• Submit 2023-2024 FAFSA by May 8, 2024 (school code is 003481)
• Complete verification (if required) by May 1, 2024
• Accept/reject aid by May 8, 2024
• New loan borrowers and TEACH Grant recipients need to complete loan and/or TEACH paperwork by May 8, 2023
• Notify Financial Aid about any housing and/or enrollment changes by May 8, 2024
• Satisfactory Academic Progress Appeal deadline is May 1, 2024, or ASAP after Spring grades are reported and SAP status is calculated
• Summer semester classes start May 8, 2024
