People Jonathan Akin Jonathan Akin Vice President for Church Relations & Campus Ministries Dr. Jonathan Akin serves as the Vice President for Church Relations and Campus Ministries and is a professor of Old Testament at Carson-Newman University, a Christian institution in East Tennessee. He also serves as an adjunct professor of Old Testament and Preaching at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. Dr. Akin is the author of books like Preaching Christ from Proverbs, Exalting Jesus in Proverbs, Exalting Jesus in Ecclesiastes, Exalting Jesus in Hosea, Joel, Amos, Obadiah and the forthcoming Exalting Jesus in Numbers. He is also a contributor to Louie Giglio’s The Jesus Bible and R. Albert Mohler’s The Grace and Truth Study Bible. He has served as a pastor of churches in Kentucky, Tennessee, Florida and North Carolina. He and his wife Ashley have been married for 20 years and have 3 children: Maddy, Emma Grace and Judson.
