Carson-Newman film students Daniel Hamby and Thomas Waldrupe listen as Larsen Jay (right), president of Dogwood Entertainment, extolls the virtues of hard work and provides advice on the power of a story as the basis for good filmmaking. Listening in are C-N’s media center director Donnie Newman and Dr. Mark Borchert, communication professor and director of the film studies program. Jay served as executive producer for That Evening Sun, a 2009 movie starring Hal Holbrook as an old man looking to reclaim his home place.
