In recent years, Carson-Newman ensembles have performed with the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra, the Knoxville Choral Society and in concert tours throughout the United States and across the globe, including a Christmas Eve performance in Bethlehem, Israel.
A study abroad course gives you the opportunity for directed and self-directed study in Germany and Austria that focuses on the music cultures of those countries.
Carson-Newman offered me lots of opportunities to get on the stage and execute what I was learning in the classroom and my private lessons.
Music majors at Carson-Newman have opportunities to perform in a variety of musical ensembles. Voice ensembles include: A Cappella Choir, Men’s Chorus, Oratorio Chorus, Women Singers, Lyric Theatre and Redemption. Instrumental ensembles include: Symphonic Winds, Jazz Band and small group ensembles for piano, brass, woodwinds and percussion.
