BAD 201: Business and Professional Communication (3 credit hours)Designed to assist students in solving business problems through effective expression of ideas and information-writing, speaking, and listening. Covers the principles and methods of written and oral communication in a high technology environment and includes intercultural, legal, and ethical aspects of communication.
BAD 301: Legal and Ethnical Environment in Business (3 credit hours) U.S. legal system coupled with consideration of ethical issues confronting the business professional. Topics covered include torts, contracts, agency, employment law, intellectual property rights, consumer protection, and other business concerns.
HTM 301: Exploring the Hospitality and Tourism Industry (3 credit hours) This course provides a comprehensive overview of the hospitality and tourism industry, exploring its key components, including accommodations, food and beverage services, travel and tour operations, and event management. Emphasis will be placed on customer service excellence, sustainable practices, the role of technology in shaping guest experiences, and how to excel at incorporating servant-leadership into a hospitality career.
HTM 465: Internship (3 credit hours) Students will be required to complete a structured internship within the hospitality industry exposing the student to as many facets of the business as possible. Internships require weekly activity logs, signed by the internship supervisor at the property. The culminating activity will require students to address how they will incorporate a Christian worldview as a professional in the hospitality industry. Internships are required to be pre-approved by the Program Director prior to registering for the course.
