People Vova Gorbenko Vova Gorbenko Associate Director of Campus Ministries; Assistant Professor of New Testament Vova Gorbenko is an Associate Director of Campus Ministries and an Assistant Professor of New Testament. He was born and raised in Ukraine. Vova has over twenty years of experience in teaching, mentoring, and providing leadership to faculty and staff in a seminary setting. He served as The Academic Dean of Zaporizhzhia Bible Seminary for 15 years and taught Hermeneutics and New Testament for 21 years. He also served as senior pastor of a rapidly growing urban church for 14 years. Studying radio engineering in university, Vova became a Christian after being given a Gideons New Testament. Later he earned his M.Div. in the Netherlands at Tyndale Theological Seminary, a Th.M. in New Testament from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, South Hamilton, MA, USA, and a Ph.D. from National Pedagogical Dragomanov University, Kiev, Ukraine. Published articles on intertextuality, hermeneutics and the role of metaphor and imagination in contemporary Protestant ethics. Frequent member of accreditation committees responsible for evaluating academic programs and granting accreditation to theological schools in Eastern Europe and Asia, and speaker at National Pastors Conferences in Ukraine. Vova is happily married to Marina. They have two children: Katya (16) and Andrii (18). He loves spending time with his family, traveling together, swimming and hiking in East Tennessee.
