Marshall King

Director, Institute for Faith Life & Assistant Professor of Biblical Studies

Professor King joined the religious studies faculty of Carson-Newman in 2021. He teaches primarily New Testament courses, and his academic interests include the Pauline letters and Hebrews as well as narratology, Levantine archaeology, and digital humanities. Professor King was ordained at Frayser Baptist Church in Memphis, TN; he has served as an associate pastor in Fort Worth, TX for several years and has provided pulpit supply for churches in Connecticut, Indiana, and Tennessee. He is married to Sara, and together they have two children: Rosalie and Marshall. In addition to quality family time, Professor King enjoys reading, woodworking, and tinkering with vintage electronics.
