People Kyle Davidson Kyle Davidson Adjunct Professor of Trombone Dr. Kyle Davidson holds a Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) in Trombone Performance from the University of Kentucky, where he studied under Professor Bradley Kerns. He also holds a Master of Music degree in Trombone Performance from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music and a Bachelor of Music degree from Lee University. Originally from Cleveland, Tennessee, Dr. Davidson grew up in the Chattanooga area on the edge of the Great Smoky Mountains. He recently moved to Newport, Tennessee, with his wife Daven, after completing his DMA. In addition to his academic achievements, Kyle is a student of Joseph Rodriguez, a trombonist with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. Dr. Davidson is the principal trombone for Tim Zimmerman & the King’s Brass, performing approximately 150 concerts annually across the United States. He is also a member of Appalachia: A Southeastern Wind Symphony. With extensive experience in both jazz and classical styles, he brings a versatile and rich background to his teaching and performances. Dr. Davidson is a frequent low brass clinician for secondary schools across Tennessee, Kentucky, and Ohio, sharing his expertise and passion for music with the next generation of musicians. Outside of music, Kyle enjoys exploring the Smoky Mountains with his dog, reading, and learning how to cook.
