People John McClellan John McClellan Associate Professor of Philosophy Dr. John McClellan earned a BA in Philosophy from UNC-Greensboro and a PhD in Philosophy from UT-Knoxville. He teaches courses on critical thinking and various areas of philosophy, all with an emphasis on helping students think, read, and write more clearly and precisely. He is especially interested in issues concerning the rationality of religious beliefs and has published papers on the topics of God and suffering, Christian atonement theory, and the rationality of trust in both religious and interpersonal contexts.
