People Cassandra Catlett Cassandra Catlett Chair of Business; Director of Bush Family Center & Associate Professor of Accounting Professor Catlett received her Bachelor of Science in Accounting and in Computer Information Systems from Carson-Newman University and her Master of Accountancy from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville. She holds active licenses as a Certified Public Accountant, a Certified Financial Planner and a Personal Financial Specialist. Professor Catlett returned to Carson-Newman University in the spring of 2020 after stepping away from teaching in 2017 to return to active practice in accounting and financial planning. She was at Carson-Newman previously from 2007-2017. Before starting at Carson-Newman University, Professor Catlett worked in public accounting as a tax manager and a personal financial planner. When she is not teaching, she is spending time with her husband, Chuck, and their two children, Tyler and Lauren. She is a member of First Baptist Church in Jefferson City and volunteers at several local charities.
