People Amber Roth Amber Roth Associate Professor of Family and Consumer Sciences PhD, Apparel Product Design and Analysis, Virginia Tech BS, Clothing and Textiles, Apparel Design Emphasis, Virginia Tech Dr. Roth teaches Introduction to the Fashion Industry, Textiles, Clothing Construction, Fashion History, Merchandising, Retailing, CAD for Apparel, and other fashion-related courses. She also advises the Kappa Beta Xi Chapter of the Kappa Omicron Nu Honor Society and the Carson-Newman Design Association. Her research interests focus on exploring and understanding design, from the beginning of the design process with creativity and inspiration and post-consumption with the behavior of the consumer. Dr. Roth is a member of the American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences (AAFCS) and the International Textile and Apparel Association (ITAA). She enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, cooking, and sewing.
