The next phase in our Acorns to Oaks campaign is the construction of a new, five-acre recreational park on the west side of campus! This incredible facility will feature a full-sized soccer field, two outdoor basketball courts, three beach volleyball courts, a softball field, a pavilion and complete lighting around the park! The park is slated to open Fall 2024.
In early May, more than 330 undergraduate students walked across the stage at Burke-Tarr Stadium and received their diplomas at Spring Commencement! Congratulations and best wishes to the Class of 2023!
In late August, 13 student-athletes from the Eagles football team publicly professed their faith in Jesus Christ and were baptized in the cool waters of Mossy Creek!
In October, we broke ground on a new Child Development Lab facility! Scheduled to open Fall 2024, the CDL will afford an outdoor learning environment promoting physical, emotional, social, cognitive and language development. A large indoor classroom is designed to allow space for equipment and activities supporting child development.
This new, 110,000 sq. ft. residence life complex will be located on the west side of campus, adjacent to the Appalachian Commons student apartments complex and the Intramural Field. We are partnering with University Housing Solutions for this project — one of the premier developers in the student housing sector. This amazing facility is set to open Fall 2024!
