CHILD DEVELOPMENT LAB

CDL Highlights:

  • Serves as a teacher training facility for Child and Family Studies majors
  • Provides a State of Tennessee Three-Star Early Childhood program for 4 and 5-year old children from the surrounding communities during the morning.
  • Curriculum is based on Developmentally Appropriate Practice (DAP) philosophy
  • A Gold Sneaker certified center

Carson-Newman’s President Fowler and First Lady (seated with the children) visited the Child Development Laboratory to read The Plans I Have For You by Amy Parker. They presented each child with a copy that included an encouraging personal note.
