Carson-Newman to host Christmas tradition with public tree lighting, Nov. 29

(Nov. 18, 2016)—Carson-Newman University will bring in the Christmas season with its annual Tree Lighting Tuesday, Nov. 29. Guests will have two opportunities to attend, with lightings at 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

Guests will enjoy a series of scripture readings, punctuated by candlelight processions and a number of musical performances by different ensembles.

Free and open to the public, the lightings will be located in Tarr Music Center’s lobby. Space is limited.

Weather permitting, the University’s Alumni Office will host an outdoor alumni and friends reception between lightings, where wassail and cookies will be served.

Tickets are required, but are complimentary. Guests may request tickets by calling Julie Wright at 865-471-3328.

Tarr Music Center is located along Russell Avenue on Carson-Newman’s campus.
