category: Academics Carson-Newman online programs earn national recognition category: Academics | January 14, 2020 (Jan. 14, 2020) JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. – Carson-Newman University’s online graduate education program is No. 2 in the state according to a U.S. News & World Report ranking released today. The program is ranked #154 nationally among all ranked colleges and universities. The announcement is part of the publication’s new 2020 U.S. News & World Report Best Online Programs rankings. The University of Memphis is the only university receiving a higher ranking in Tennessee. Carson-Newman is also the state’s highest-ranked private school in the “Best Online MBA Programs” category, earning a national ranking of #172. “It’s always special when others affirm the educational experience we provide at Carson-Newman,” said University President Charles A. Fowler. “Our faculty is committed to helping our students prepare for what God has in store for them – whether that is in a traditional classroom or at home through our online programs.“ The methodology the publication uses to determine its rankings includes the areas of engagement, expert opinion, faculty credentials, student excellence, and student services and technologies. The 2020 edition also cites C-N in the categories of “Best Online Master’s in Nursing Programs” and “Best Online Bachelor’s Programs.” Founded in 1851, Carson-Newman is a Christian liberal arts-based university affiliated with the Tennessee Baptist Convention. The University is located in Jefferson City, Tennessee, among the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains and has over 2,700 students. Carson-Newman offers 50 undergraduate majors, as well as associate, bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees.
