C-N’s online programs ranked among top in state

Carson-Newman University’s online programs are in high standing among colleges and universities across the state, according to U.S. News & World Report’s latest rankings. (Jan. 15, 2019) JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. — Carson-Newman University’s online education programs earned a No. 2 standing among colleges and universities across the state, according to rankings released today by U.S. News & World Report.

In the “2019 Best Online Education Programs,” Carson-Newman ranked 148th in the nation and second in Tennessee, separated by only one point from the state’s top-ranking University of Memphis.

“These latest rankings from U.S. News & World Report affirm Carson-Newman University’s reputation and commitment for providing excellence in all our educational programs whether online, hybrid or face-to-face,” said Dr. Jeremy Buckner, acting provost and vice president for Academic Affairs. “We give every effort to see our students succeed, and we’re proud to garner this prestigious recognition of that endeavor.

The leading source of college rankings also placed both C-N’s online MBA programs and online bachelor’s programs in the top five in Tennessee for their respective categories.

Founded in 1851, Carson-Newman is a Christian liberal arts university located in Jefferson City, Tennessee, among the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains. The University has over 2,500 students and offers 50 undergraduate majors, as well as associate, bachelor’s, master’s and doctorate degrees.
