C-N theater presents “Murder on the Orient Express”

Carson-Newman University’s Theatre Program presents a production of thrills and mystery via “Murder on the Orient Express,” February 19-22. Tickets are on sale now.

Directed by Kyle Biery, Carson-Newman’s Charles Fuller Chair of Drama, the production is adapted by Ken Ludwig from the classic novel by Agatha Christie.

Set in the cold of winter, the story features the luxurious Orient Express as welcomes an unlikely gathering of passengers— each perhaps carrying secrets with their suitcases. When the train is stranded in a snowdrift, tensions rise… a murder is discovered! That’s when attention turns to world-famous detective Hercule Poirot, played by C-N student Davis Bigelow. With deception and suspense in every train car, “Murder on the Orient Express” is often referred to as the ultimate “whodunit.”

Joining Bigelow in the ensemble-driven production are John Sofield (Monsieur Bouc), Emmaline Estep (Mrs. Hubbard), Molly Cox (Countess Andrenyi), Josiah Crook (Colonel Arbuthnot), Lexi Garren (Mary Debenham), Ella Smith (Princess Dragomiroff), Treis Garrett (Hector MacQueen), Dominic DeMaro (Michel, the Conductor), Anna Heflin (Greta Ohlsson), Seth Stokes (Samuel Ratchett), and Ariana Reller (Head Waiter).

Sponsored by Brock, Shipe and Klenk, Colortech, Hyde Eyecare and Threds, the event will be held in Gentry Auditorium located in the University’s Henderson Humanities Building. Seating is limited.

Content Advisory: This production is rated PG-13 for language and violent themes.

Performance times:

Feb. 19-21 at 7:30 p.m.

Feb. 22 at 2 p.m.
