C-N online MBA program ranked No. 5 in nation

Carson-Newman University’s Ted Russell Hall houses the business department, which recently received a ranking of No. 5 in the nation for the University’s online Master of Business Administration program.

(May 1, 2019) JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. — The timeliness, affordability, quality and service students receive from Carson-Newman University’s online Master of Business Administration program garnered a top placement in a national listing.

In a review of more than 500 programs nationwide, MBA Central ranked Carson-Newman’s No. 5 in its ranking of the “30 Fastest Online MBA Programs.”

“We’re proud of our online Master of Business Administration program that offers working students access to higher education,” said Dr. Jeremy Buckner, associate provost and dean of Adult and Graduate Studies. “It comes with a sense of accomplishment and pride that we’ve been ranked in the top five programs in the nation. Our faculty are committed to preparing our students to enter positions of leadership, and this ranking recognizes their efforts in the program.

While students must be able to complete the program in 12 months or less to compete for the listing, the ranking was based on affordability, support services and quality.

“Carson-Newman University offers an online MBA combining excellence with ease,” MBA Central’s ranking states. “Students will also be able to communicate effectively, develop problem-solving and analytical skills, and successfully apply sound business practices to a number of organizations and environments.”

The ranking notes that the award-winning program qualified as “very affordable” — the ranking’s best category for affordability — at less than $15,000 a year.

“The Carson-Newman online MBA program attracts professionals looking to balance their current job and family commitments with an opportunity to advance career,” said Professor Philip Bailey, director of the MBA program. “Carson-Newman makes every effort to provide a program that allows students to obtain the balance while returning to school and at a price that few of our competitors can match.”

Founded in 1851, Carson-Newman is a Christian liberal arts university located in Jefferson City, Tennessee, among the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains. The University has over 2,500 students and offers 50 undergraduate majors, as well as associate, bachelor’s, master’s and doctorate degrees.
