Both graduates’ low median debt and better-than-average tuition prices helped Carson-Newman University land its solid ranking. Schools.com also recognizes the University’s dedication to student success by providing services such as career counseling and job placement. “Students and families searching for a four-year college are sometimes surprised to realize just how affordable our degree programs are,” said Dr. Paul Percy, C-N’s executive vice president and provost. “As a private, liberal arts university, Carson-Newman’s costs are competitive with area public institutions and, with the many scholarships and strong financial aid packages we offer, often can prove more cost-effective. And certainly, our faculty and staff are dedicated to seeing our students achieve their dreams for the best possible outcomes.” The Schools.com study evaluated just over 30 colleges and universities in Tennessee. Each institution was measured against 13 different criteria related to factors of affordability, student success, distance learning participation and more.
