C-N Coaches Visit Special Fan

Since Newport’s Lucille Cureton could not travel to Jefferson City for last week’s football game, Carson-Newman’s head coach Ken Sparks visited her to celebrate the start of the season and the 300th victory of his career. A stalwart supporter for many decades, Mrs. Cureton is legendary for writing letters of encouragement, praying for the team and not missing a home game until health issues made it difficult. She says being an assisted living resident means she has to cheer on her team while listening to radio broadcasts of games.
