“Black Swan” by Dr. Earl Cleveland

(Aug. 9, 2016) –Carson-Newman University’s Art Department has announced fall exhibits to be featured on campus.

“This fall we have an excellent lineup of three professional art exhibitions in our Omega Gallery,” said David Underwood, professor of Art and director of Art Department Exhibitions. “From watercolor, to letterpress art, to photography we look forward to inviting the community to join us as we showcase these talented artists and diverse mediums.

The season begins with an exhibit by Dr. Earl Cleveland on Monday, August 29. A reception at 3 p.m. will open the watercolor showcase, which will be on display through September 16.

He constructed the Omega Gallery in 1982 and is responsible for Carson-Newman’s initial accreditation with the National Association of Schools of Art and Design in 1992. He is an active member of the Knoxville Watercolor Society.
