Record-shattering 243 student athletes named Eagle Scholars

(Sept. 1, 2020) JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. — A whopping 243 Carson-Newman student-athletes have been lauded with status as Eagle Scholars, the athletic department announced Tuesday.

The 243 honorees represents a growth of 10.4 percent from the previous year’s record-class of 220. It marks an eighth consecutive year of growth since the program began in 2013 with 72 being recognized. Graphics for all the honorees will be featured on Carson-Newman athletics social media channels in the coming days in lieu of a ceremony proper because of COVID-19.
