Video celebrating C-N’s location lands prestigious awards

(August 15, 2018) JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. — The dynamic opportunities that Carson-Newman University’s East Tennessee location present took center stage in a video, created by the Marketing and Communications office, that has received two noteworthy awards.

The honors bookended the summer, with the most recent being a prestigious bronze Telly Award, the premier prize honoring video and television across all screens.

That accolade followed an honorable mention in March from Ragan’s 2017 PR Dailey Awards.

Fellow winners for these distinguished awards included corporate giants such as McDonalds, Verizon, Aflac and Microsoft.

“It’s been quite a summer for our Marketing and Communications team. It’s always an honor when your work is recognized,” said Director Charles Key. “There was a desire to highlight the many opportunities students have when they come to Carson-Newman. After collaborating with our Admissions team, we decided to produce a video that gives a quick glimpse into this idea.”

The video highlights the various opportunities the region offers, from hiking and kayaking to city life in Knoxville and fellowship and worship everywhere.

“Our associate director of Marketing, Todd Turpin, did a great job of taking this concept and building a video that celebrates our location and its connectedness to East Tennessee. The video has really been the foundation of an upcoming recruiting campaign,” Key said.

We want potential students and their families to know that Carson-Newman is both a great place to earn their degree and a great place to spend their college years.

Founded in 1851, Carson-Newman is a Christian liberal arts university located in Jefferson City, Tennessee, among the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains. The University has over 2,500 students and offers 50 undergraduate majors, as well as associate, bachelor’s, master’s and doctorate degrees.
