(March 6, 2015) – Carson-Newman University’s Women of Vision (WOV) has rescheduled its Annual Gathering for Saturday, April 25. The event, originally scheduled for February, was rescheduled due to inclement weather. Headlining the event is Knoxville’s Joan Cronan. Cronan is best known for her role as Women’s Athletic Director Emeritus for the University of Tennessee. She has been named Athletic Director of the Year by the NACDA and NACWAA in 2004 and 2005, respectively. With Cronan at the helm, the Lady Vols achieved their highest ever finish at the 2007 Director’s Cup and earned recognition for being one of the premier women’s athletics departments in the nation. She is also a member of the Carson-Newman Board of Trustees. “The Women of Vision Annual Gathering is open to any woman who has a passion for Christian higher education, particularly at Carson-Newman,” said Kay O’Brien, WOV president. “WOV is a dynamic group of women, thinking and working “outside the box” to use their talents and gifts to enhance the student experience at Carson-Newman and having great fun in the process!” In the relatively short time since its establishment, WOV has significantly impacted campus through projects and initiatives. Such campus enhancements have included renovations of the University’s Appalachian Cultural Center, the lobby of Dougherty Science Center, historic Swann Hall and the addition of a Fireside Reading Room in the University’s library. The 11 a.m. event is free to attend and will be held in Carson-Newman’s Stokely Memorial Cafeteria. Seating is limited. Those interested may register by completing the online registration form at cn.edu/gathering, or by calling Leah Smith at 865-471-3459, or emailing WOV@cn.edu.
