The event drew from the greater community and multiple area churches across East Tennessee counties. “I’ve been looking forward to this since the first mention that it was going to be taking place on campus,” said Carson-Newman President Charles A. Fowler to those gathered. “This is an incredible evening. And I think all of you will be blessed through the music and preaching.” Held in Carson-Newman’s Holt Fieldhouse, the event featured contemporary Christian recording artist Christy Nockels, who lead worship. Carson-Newman alumnus Dr. Roc Collins of the TBMB delivered the evening’s message, which saw multiple decisions for Christ. Platform guests included Lakeway Fellowship of Christian Athletes Director Marty Blakely; Dr. Randy Davis, executive director of TBMB; Carson-Newman President Charles A. Fowler; Carson-Newman vice chair Bob Gay; and Dr. David Green, president of the Tennessee Baptist Convention. The evening, which was free, concluded with a concert by Christian music and Christian rock band Citizen Way. The group has landed several radio singles including “How Sweet The Sound” and “Bulletproof.”
