Carson-Newman online programs earn high marks in new ranking

(June 28, 2018) JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. — Carson-Newman University secured the No. 4 spot for the top colleges in Tennessee that offer online degree programs. The recent ranking was announced by OnlineDegrees.com.

C-N landed this top placement based on tuition, flexibility, services, the percentage of students who participate in distance education and degree completion rates.

Notably, the University awards 97 percent of undergraduate students financial aid.

OnlineDegrees.com serves as a database of degrees by major, articles on college trends and other information for prospective online students.

As noted by OnlineDegrees.com, Carson-Newman offers 18 online programs, career counseling and placement services. The University also extends financial aid packages that cover an average of nearly 75 percent of the in-state tuition rate.

C-N even offers graduate degrees that students can complete online or by attending classes one night per week.

The OnlineDegrees.com study evaluated 49 colleges and universities in Tennessee. Each institution was measured against 14 different criteria. Data was sourced from the National Center for Education Statistics’ Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System.

Founded in 1851, Carson-Newman is a Christian liberal arts university located in Jefferson City, Tennessee, among the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains. The University has over 2,500 students and offers 50 undergraduate majors, as well as associate, bachelor’s, master’s and doctorate degrees.
