Customer Service Representative

At Social Security, we a looking for individuals who are driven to provide great customer service! Our mission is to assist the public with finding the benefits and services they need during the most critical times in their lives.
Social Security assists individuals with monetary benefits at retirement or if an individual becomes disabled to work. Social Security is there when there is a death in the family, to determine if there are benefits payable to a surviving spouse and children. We also assist individuals with enrolling in Medicare, and we administer the needs-based Supplemental Security Income program (SSI).
To carry out this mission, we hire for multiple entry-level positions, including the Customer Service Representative.
Customer Service Representatives work in our local offices to gather facts and evidence to determine if someone is eligible for Social Security, Medicare and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits. They help the public by answering a wide variety of questions both in-person and by telephone. They conduct interviews, investigate situations, and resolve issues. They review information to determine ongoing eligibility for Social Security benefits.

SSA is expecting to hire in 2026 and we are looking for candidates to assist us in support of our critical mission.
