GRADUATE & PROFESSIONAL STUDIES ADMISSIONS

Whether you are pursuing a master’s degree or working towards your bachelor’s for the first time, we are here to help you achieve your goal. 
At Carson-Newman, hundreds of adult students study in a variety of formats in our supportive learning environment. Our helpful Graduate & Professional admissions team is here to walk through the application process, and can also help you narrow down a particular program of interest. The accredited master’s degree programs at Carson-Newman are built with adult students in mind. Your time is valuable, and many of our programs offer an accelerated option.

Admission Requirements: Graduate Programs

Students interested in any of our graduate programs can apply to Carson-Newman at any time of the year. 

Prospective graduate students are required to meet these common admission requirements:

  1. Completed application 
  2. Submit official transcripts
    One (1) official transcript of all undergraduate programs of study, One (1) official transcript of all graduate programs of study (if applicable for transfer credit consideration or application into Ed.D./Ed.S. programs.
  3. Official test scores (See individual program admission requirements if applicable)
  4. If applicable, complete and submit the transfer credit consideration form 
  5. Complete additional program-specific admissions requirements:
    MBA
    Counseling
    Education (On Campus: M.A.T.; or M.Ed.) (Off Campus: M.Ed.; Ed.S.; or Ed.D.)
    Nursing (MSN; Post Masters Certificate, Online MSN FNP, Online Post Masters FNP Certificate),
    Theology
  6. Additional graduate admission requirements for international students.

 
Transfer Credit: For transfer credit, a maximum of 6 semester hours for the M.A. (Applied Theology) degrees; 9 semester hours for the M.B.A., M.A.T., M.Ed, M.S.C. M.S.N. and Ed.S. degrees and 12 semester hours for the Ed.D., completed within the last five years may be granted. See the Graduate Catalog for more details by program.
