FCS Department honors Carroll for leadership

(Oct. 6, 2014)– Carson-Newman University’s Family and Consumer Sciences Department recently honored professor emeritus Dr. Diana Carroll, far right, for 34 years of leadership as Alpha Beta Xi Chapter advisor of the national honor society, Kappa Omicron Nu. Carson-Newman’s Alpha Beta Xi Chapter has received 25 Chapter Excellence Awards, more than any other chapter of the national FCS honor society and most recently for the 2013-2014 academic year. Carroll, who recently retired, is also the only advisor to receive two national KON Advisor of the Year Awards. Current KON advisor and FCS Chair, Dr. Kitty Coffey, pictured left, along with current KON student president, Chelsea Buchanan, honor Carroll during the Department’s Advisory Board meeting.
