MBA Adjunct Instructor of Business

Job Title:      MBA Adjunct Instructor of Business for Management, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Marketing, Business Law, Communications, Health Care Management, and Heath Care Entrepreneurship, Artificial Intelligence, Data Analytics, and Business Statistics.

Reports To:  MBA Program Director

Location:   Remote

FLSA Status: Exempt

Annual duration: Defined in Contract

Expected hours per week: Part-time,  

Part-time hours, if applicable:  10-12 hours per week when teaching 

Supervisory Responsibilities:  none 

Summary Description:  The adjunct instructor will deliver instruction in their discipline for graduate students enrolled in online and/or hybrid courses offered.  The position requires a significant amount of contact with students. The employee must be proactive, friendly, and work well in a variety of situations. Must maintain professionalism and confidentiality when dealing with sensitive student matters.    

Essential Functions:

  • As an intentionally Christian academic community, Christian employees are hired to advance the mission of Carson-Newman as expressed in our strategic plan, Acorns to Oaks. 
  • Teach assigned class in accordance with learning objectives and course development specified by the College of Professional Studies 
  • Provide constructive, timely and encouraging feedback for students as they progress 
  • Maintain grades and submit grades at mid-term and end-of-term 
  • Compile and remit programmatic assessment data as needed 
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education:  A terminal degree with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in the business discipline or a related field.  

Experience:   Professionals with a master’s and extensive experience in a field may be considered.
