Carson-Newman recognizes Miller and Newman with 2015 SOAR Award

(Aug. 21) – Carson-Newman President J. Randall O’Brien (left) stands with University staff members Libby Miller and Donnie Newman. The University recently presented Miller and Newman with the institution’s SOAR Award for the 2015-16 academic year. It is the first time Carson-Newman has awarded dual recipients. The honor is the highest award given to a staff member and recognizes an individual who exhibits such qualities as excellence in job performance and a positive spirit. Miller, who joined C-N’s staff in 1998, serves as executive assistant to the president, while Newman serves as director of the University’s Media Center. Newman joined C-N in 1986.
