Carson-Newman University’s Marketing and Communications Office earned top honors in the 2024 Collegiate Advertising Awards.The Carson-Newman team took gold in three different categories within the Faith-Based College and University group. Other universities earning honors in the same group include Belmont University, Marquette University, Samford University and William-Carey University.“We have a small but extremely talented marketing and communications team at Carson-Newman,” said Kevin Triplett, the University’s senior vice president for University Relations. “Each has his or her area of expertise but they are versatile in their skills. Often a small team has to operate somewhat like a Swiss Army Knife, being able to handle multiple tasks. They are committed to their craft and using their God-given talent to tell the multiple stories that confirm the mission and vision of Carson-Newman. To earn national recognition against many colleges and universities with larger staffs and more resources is a testament to their efforts.”The Collegiate Advertising Awards is a national program recognizing higher education organizations for excellence in communications, marketing, advertising and promotions of their schools from the previous year.A panel of design and higher education marketing professionals reviewed and scored submissions. Awards were issued for entries that received high marks from judges placing them in the top 16% of the nation for advertising excellence. Entries were evaluated in the areas of creativity, layout and design, functionality, message effectiveness, production quality and overall appeal.
