Carson-Newman University’s Marketing and Communications Office earned top honors in the 2024 Collegiate Advertising Awards.

The Carson-Newman team took gold in three different categories within the Faith-Based College and University group. Other universities earning honors in the same group include Belmont University, Marquette University, Samford University and William-Carey University.

“We have a small but extremely talented marketing and communications team at Carson-Newman,” said Kevin Triplett, the University’s senior vice president for University Relations. “Each has his or her area of expertise but they are versatile in their skills. Often a small team has to operate somewhat like a Swiss Army Knife, being able to handle multiple tasks. They are committed to their craft and using their God-given talent to tell the multiple stories that confirm the mission and vision of Carson-Newman. To earn national recognition against many colleges and universities with larger staffs and more resources is a testament to their efforts.”

The Collegiate Advertising Awards is a national program recognizing higher education organizations for excellence in communications, marketing, advertising and promotions of their schools from the previous year.

A panel of design and higher education marketing professionals reviewed and scored submissions. Awards were issued for entries that received high marks from judges placing them in the top 16% of the nation for advertising excellence. Entries were evaluated in the areas of creativity, layout and design, functionality, message effectiveness, production quality and overall appeal. Carson-Newman and Belmont University were the only other institutions to win three gold awards in the group.
