Program Overview
Providing a solid biblical, historical and theological foundation, the Carson-Newman religion degree prepares you for a range of professional paths. If you are planning further theological education or if you would like to strengthen your education with religion as a second major, this program is designed for you. Christlike professors will guide you with personal care and attention as you engage questions of spirituality and mission.
The Religion major includes courses in biblical studies, church history, Christian doctrine, and the arts of ministry, making this degree ideal preparation for seminary. Development in critical skills, research, and oral and written communication tools will equip you for leadership in church and society, whatever your vocation.

Did You Know?
The School of Biblical & Theological Studies sends one student annually to Regent's Park College of Oxford University to conduct primary historical research in the Angus Library, an archive whose contents tell the story of the Baptists of Great Britain over four hundred years.
