C-N hosts East TN Evangelism Rally

Award-winning Christian artists Nic Gonzales and Jaci Velasquez will lead worship during the 2022 East Tennessee Evangelism Rally at Carson-Newman, Sept. 18.

Carson-Newman University invites the public to the 2022 East TN Evangelism Rally, Sunday, Sept. 18 at 6 p.m. The event is free and will be held in Holt Fieldhouse located on Branner Ave. on campus.

Leading worship is award-winning Christian artists Nic Gonzales and Jaci Velasquez. Gonzales is a producer, songwriter, musician and recording artist. He also co-founded award-winning band “Salvador.” Velasquez is a three-time Platinum and three-time Gold album recording artist. She has won multiple Dove Awards including for her song “On My Knees.”

Dr. Steve Gaines is the event’s guest speaker. Gaines is senior pastor of Bellevue Baptist Church in Cordova, Tennessee. Since 1983, he pastored churches in Texas, Tennessee and Alabama before joining Bellevue in 2005. He is author of “Morning Manna,” “Pray Like it Matters,” and “Share Jesus Like it Matters.”

The event is sponsored by Carson-Newman University, Tennessee Baptist Mission Board and Jefferson County Baptist Association.

Dr. Steve Gaines is the featured speaker for the East TN Evangelism Rally.
