Enlivened campus coffeehouse offers blends of new decor, robust menu and local partnership

Students gather for the grand opening of the renewed Maples Coffeehouse on campus.

Something’s brewing on Carson-Newman’s campus, and it’s just in time for the fall semester and returning students. The University held a ribbon cutting on Friday, Aug. 12, unveiling its newly redesigned campus café, Maples Coffeehouse.

The updated space encompasses a new look, feel and experience. A more robust and seasonal food menu is available. Beyond more food options, coffee lovers can rejoice.

From new coffee blends and flavors to the ability to provide nitro cold brews, Maples Coffeehouse is providing students and the general public a host of new offerings thanks in part to a new local partnership.

“We have partnered with local coffee roaster, Vienna Coffee out of Maryville, Tennessee, to bring a new local concept to campus,” said Heather Griggs, who serves as Aramark’s general manager of Campus Dining Services. “We are thrilled to bring this partnership to campus. The ownership and leadership at Vienna are like minded with the campus community here at Carson-Newman and they hold those values near and dear,” said Griggs. “They put out a quality product that is sure to wow the tastebuds here on campus, and we are excited to introduce them to the Aramark Collegiate Hospitality Family. We are the first Aramark campus in the Southeast to have a Vienna partnership, but I have a feeling we probably won’t be the last.”
