Carson-Newman was named a "Best Regional College” by Princeton Review. Carson-Newman University is among a select number of colleges that Princeton Review has named “Best Regional Colleges” for 2022 in recognition of excellence in academics and student feedback on the University’s on-campus experience. Fewer than 150 colleges in the Southeast qualified for the educational services company’s regional listings. “Carson-Newman is an excellent university, and our faculty and staff serve faithfully to help our students reach their full potential as educated citizens and worldwide servant leaders,” said C-N President Dr. Charles A. Fowler. “While we do not serve for the purpose of receiving these honors and recognitions, they certainly serve an important purpose of affirming the quality of education and the excellence that defines the service of those who serve here.” The “Best Regional Colleges” category included 12 states: Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia. Founded in 1851, Carson-Newman is a Christian liberal arts university located in Jefferson City, Tennessee, among the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains. The University offers 50 undergraduate majors, as well as associate, bachelor’s, master’s and doctorate degrees.
