Women of Vision was founded in 2011 to “support the Carson-Newman experience through the pathways of nurturing truth, enhancing beauty and enriching goodness” and funds raised from the yard sale will support WOV summer renovation projects, including Faith and Justice House, Burnett Hall, Alumni Hall Resource Room, Swann Hall Basement and the Bonner Center. Items may be donated to the yard sale prior to July 13 by contacting Katie Ragan at 865-471-3245 or [email protected]. In addition to the yard sale, volunteers will be tackling renovation and improvement projects throughout campus as part of the Day of Service. “Back to the Creek, Women of Vision’s annual work weekend, is an opportunity to give back to Carson-Newman through a variety of hands-on work projects. Whether it’s painting cabinets in a classroom, reorganizing a craft closet, or doing some serious deep cleaning and decluttering, it’s a fun way to get our hands dirty with other women, and have a great weekend of fellowship,” said Amy Stover, WOV chair. C-N First Lady and WOV President Kay O’Brien added, “Back to the Creek work day has been a part of Women of Vision at Carson-Newman since our start. There is just something really satisfying about bringing folks together to work, laugh, and see tangible results of our collective efforts. Last year we added a yard sale to the fun and this year’s “picker haul” promises to be worth a trip to campus. Anyone who loves Carson-Newman and believes in the mission of Christian higher education is invited to join the fun!” To volunteer for the Day of Service, visit: cn.edu/bttc by July 6.
