Nashville Children’s Choir at C-N Friday, May 12

The nationally known Nashville Children’s Choir will present a free concert at Carson-Newman University Friday, May 12, at 1:30 p.m. The event will be held in Thomas Recital Hall, part of the Tarr Music Center.

(May 5, 2017) – The Nashville Children’s Choir, known for appearances on the PBS televised “Christmas at Belmont,” will perform in Carson-Newman University’s Thomas Recital Hall Friday, May 12, at 1:30 p.m.

The event is free and open to the public.

The choir program for boys and girls, ages 8 through 18, is committed to the rehearsal and performance of quality choral music in a positive and affirming setting. The choir is affiliated with Belmont University.

The choir has performed with recording artists Reba McEntire, Trisha Yearwood, Melinda Doolittle, Laura Bell Bundy, Joe Diffy and Riders in the Sky. The Touring Choir has performed across North America, including Toronto, New York City, Boston and San Francisco.

The Touring Choir is co-directed by Madeline Bridges and James Wells. Bridges, the program director, teaches music education and is associate dean of Belmont’s School of Music. Wells directs music for youth and children at Brentwood United Methodist Church.

The choir’s recordings include one of Christmas music, a 10th anniversary CD titled “Music of Your Life” and “15 Years with the Nashville Children’s Choir.”
