University welcomes over 200 to “We March with Selma” exhibit open house

(Feb. 1, 2016) – Alverenne Bridgeforth speaks to the some 200 guests who gathered for Carson-Newman’s “We March with Selma” exhibit open house. Bridgeforth, a member of African American Heritage Alliance (AAHA), was a student at North Carolina’s Bennet College when the famous lunch counter sit-in and marches began in Greensboro. The exhibit is part of the University’s year-long observance: “A Simple Justice: The Celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the Voting Rights Act.”
