Randall O’Brien, Carson-Newman president (April 8, 2015) – Carson-Newman University President J. Randall O’Brien will serve as Minister of the Day for the Tennessee Senate on April 15 in Nashville. O’Brien will open the day’s session with prayer. The invitation to bring the morning’s invocation is one that the University president does not take lightly. “I always appreciate the opportunity to represent Carson-Newman University and all of us in expressing our gratitude to Tennessee’s outstanding public servants,” said O’Brien. “To serve as Minister of the Day for the Tennessee Senate is one of those special opportunities.” Carson-Newman will also host an event for alumni and friends prior to the morning’s session.
