Public invited to outdoor Tree Lighting Service, Dec. 2

(Nov. 18, 2014) –Carson-Newman University will usher in the Christmas season with an outdoor Tree Lighting Service on Tuesday, Dec. 2. An enduring community tradition, the 6 p.m. event marks the beginning of the Advent season through song and candlelight. It is free and open to the public.

“There is no greater news than the Good News of God’s grace and redemption through Jesus Christ,” said Dr. Jeremy Buckner, chair of the University’s Music Department. “We invite others to share in this celebration of Advent with us as student and faculty members bring great music and Christmas cheer.”

Guests are encouraged to dress warm, as the event will be held outside on the grounds of Tarr Music Center. In case of inclement weather, the service will be moved to the lobby of the Center.

For more information, contact the Music Department at 865-471-3328.
