(May 9, 2014)– The story of Carson-Newman senior Christian Cummins recently caught the eye of several media around the region. The English and communication studies double-major suffered a heart attack in November and underwent a heart transplant in early April at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. It was her second transplant having undergone her first at the age of two weeks. Throughout the chain of events, Cummins was determined to return to campus to take part in spring commencement. On May 9, her hopes came to fruition.
