Steinway Society of Knoxville to showcase C-N music students

Steinway Society of Knoxville presents a Carson-Newman Student Showcase on Sunday, February 10, at 3:00 p.m. Steinway Society of Knoxville presents a Carson-Newman Student Showcase on Sunday, February 10, at 3:00 p.m. The event, which is free and open to the public, will be held at Knoxville’s American Piano Gallery.

Several Carson-Newman piano majors will perform works by many composers including Schubert, Brahms and Rachmaninoff.

Carson-Newman students performing include Freshmen: Hannah Davis, Kevin Eller, Leigh Jones, Kate Rafalski, and Jessa Williams; Sophomores: Katie Brown, Meghann Hutchins, and Audrey Jones; Juniors: Matthew Everts and Sarah Beth Walker; Seniors: Brandon Coffer, David Hill, Sarah Kim, Carissa Wassenaar.

The C-N Music Department has 10 full-time faculty and approximately 85 music majors. Music majors may earn Bachelor of Music degrees in performance, church music, music education, music theory, or music with an outside field.

The students featured are the piano students of Drs. Ryan Fogg and Mark Hussung.
