category: Campus News 2013 Conference Theme Announced: “Echoes of Emancipation: One Region, Many Stories” category: Campus News | August 3, 2012 AAHA!, the George Clem Multicultural Association of Greeneville, TN and the Andrew Johnson National Historic Site are beginning work on a regional African American history conference for October 2013. In order to highlight the 150th anniversary of the Emancipation Proclamation and the August 8th Emancipation of Andrew Johnson’s slaves, the theme of this year’s conference will be Echoes of Emancipation: One Region, Many Stories.
