Volunteers Count

Tonia Latham, program director for the Tennessee Valley Coalition to End Homelessness, leads a training session for C-N volunteers Thursday evening. Bonner Scholars and students in the School of Social Sciences will help accomplish the Point in Time count, led by Housing and Urban Development (HUD). national effort to count America’s homeless population. C-Ns Appalachian Outreach is coordinating the effort to help with the count in Jefferson County. While students have helped in the past, AO Director Jean-Ann Washam says she is excited that sociology professors will next week’s effort as hands on experience for their students.
